God has entrusted these children to us and we need to reach them through all the noise of the world ...before life just swallows them up.
Andrea Mitchell: Children's Church Director
As an adult I find myself remembering all the things I learned during Children’s Church on Sunday mornings at Riverside. I recognize the impact those lessons had on my life and how knowing of God’s love at such an early age impacted my decisions as an adult. In recognizing the impact those teachers had on my life even as an adult, I believe that the Lord has placed a desire in my heart to serve His children. The most rewarding thing would be to impact a child’s life long term and know that the lessons taught in Children’s Church had a hand in shaping their futures for the better. God has entrusted these children to us and we need to reach them through all the noise of the world before life just swallows them up. Proverbs 22:6 says: “Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Today is our opportunity to reach God’s children and make an impact on their world tomorrow.

"When a boy or girl thrusts his small hand into yours, it may be smeared with chocolate ice cream, or grimy from petting a dog. There may be a wart under the right thumb and a bandage around the little finger. But the important thing about his hand is that it is the hand that some day may hold a Bible or a Colt revolver; play a piano or spin a gambling wheel; gently dress a leper's wound or tremble wretchedly, uncontrolled by an alcoholic mind. Right now, that hand is yours . . . it asks for help and guidance." -Author Unknown. Quoted by George B. Eager. How to Succeed in Winning Children to Christ. The Mailbox Club. Valdosta, GA. 1979. p.1.
